"An insightful meditation on the curious nature of time...A highly illuminating intellectual investigation" (Kirkus Reviews) explaining the sometimes contradictory ways we experience time. "Time" is the most commonly used noun in the English language; it's always on our minds and it advances through every living moment. But what is time, exactly? Do children experience it the same way adults do? Why does it seem to slow down when we're bored and speed by as we get older? How and why does time fly? "Erudite and informative, a joy with many small treasures" (Science), this witty and meditative exploration by award-winning author and New Yorker staff writer Alan Burdick--"one of the finest science writers at work today, with an uncanny ability to explain knotty topics, with humanity, and humor" (Publishers Weekly, staff pick, best books of 2016)--takes readers on a personal quest to understand how time gets in us and why we perceive it the way we do. In the company of scientists, he visits the most accurate clock in the world (which exists only on paper); discovers that "now" actually happened a split-second ago; finds a twenty-fifth hour in the day; lives in the Arctic to lose all sense of time; and, for one fleeting moment in a neuroscientist's lab, even makes time go backward. "Why Time Flies captures us. Because it opens up a well of fascinating queries and gives us a glimpse of what has become an ever more deepening mystery for humans: the nature of time" (The New York Times Book Review). This "intellectual adventure renders a hefty topic accessible to the general public" (Richmond Times-Dispatch), is an instant classic, a vivid and intimate examination of the clocks that tick inside us all.Binding Type: Paperback

Very Impressive Quality
Color: Bubble Dark Yellow, Size: Throw
I don't normally write reviews but my search for a low-cost quality throw for my sofa is finally over, right down to the "dark yellow" color. The quality of this throw is amazing for the price, it's just thick enough and very luxurious looking and feeling. I washed it straight out of the box upon delivery fully expecting an issue so I could return it asap. I used the delicate cycle in cold water, low heat in the drawer and it looks better than when it arrived. I ordered several other throws for $20 or less on Amazon that were too thin or the color was dreadful, but this item was perfect in every way. No shedding so far.

I LOVE THIS BLANKET!!
Color: Pink, Size: Throw
Just buy it right now because it’s very affordable, high quality, and soooooooo silky soft. Feels similar to a Minky couture blanket, only with longer fuzzies. I got the one sided raspberry pink looking colored throw size and I love it. No regrets, easy to wash, and doesn’t fall apart in washer. I love it and will buy more in the future, highly recommend🩷🩷🩷

Great product!
Color: Double Sided Tie-dye Pink, Size: Throw
We ordered the pink tie-dye colors which is gorgeous so we ordered 2 more in different colors. They are soft and the weight is perfect. A great blanket for bed or snuggling on the couch.

Lola look for a fraction of the price
Color: Cream White, Size: Twin, Color: Cream White, Size: Twin
I bought two of these blankets in twin size to protect our leather chairs from our cats' claws, after giving up on finding slip covers that looked good. I draped and pinned the blankets with a single large safety pin, and they pretty much stay put whereas other throws I've tried this with have not. I think it's because they're not too heavy or too light. I do need to adjust them from time to time after people have sat in them. I heard these blankets are a good substitute for the pricey Lola blankets, known for their bubbly texture. I haven't seen a Lola blanket, but these are certainly much less expensive and very nice, so soft and with the same bubbly look. The bubbles are not quite as pronounced as I'd hoped, but I have not tried following the manufacturer's suggestion of fluffing up by tumble-drying on cool with tennis balls. I'm happy with this purchase, and my cats are too.
