MLS gaskets are ideal for both aluminum heads to aluminum blocks and aluminum heads to cast iron blocks. They can withstand the shearing force created by the two materials. MLS gaskets have increased strength because they are comprised of multiple layers of stainless steel; which also creates the ability to rebound and resist corrosion. The outer layers are embossed and coated on both sides with Viton (a flour elastomer rubber based material that is heat resistant to 250 C/ 482 F). Viton is designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions, and surface finishes. Fast and easy but I dont trust the process to be fully automated.
The process was very smooth and fairly quick. The only challenge I had was that the CLAIM status showed complete but I had to manually go look up the status. There was no email or notification it was closed. After manually checking the status, I called customer support and they said since I called in, they would process the payout. I wonder if I didnt call in if they would have processed it? Also, the phone rep said they would issue me a amazon egift card but then the next day I received a email saying they mailed out the payout. Very poor communication but so far the process was easy and fast.

Don't waste your time. They'll just deny claim
Not a very reliable form of insurance. I had to file a claim on a 2 month old bedframe and they gave me the run around until I contacted Amazon.

No hassle to file and get a claim resolved.
I have to say, I expected a lot of hoops to jump through. Companies are all very eager to take your money, but when it comes time to pay out, in this case (Product Insurance) quite often it is a different story. But to my surprise that is not the case with Asurion. I submited my claim, and a few days latter I received my check. At 77 and retired from the computer field i have seen alot of things with companies that do not care about customer service and satisfaction. But when you make a purchase from Amazon with their 30 day return policy and Asurion insurance. You can't beat it.
